This one brought to you by listening to wood pigeons. Seriously, it's not paranoia - that is what they sound like. Since [info]purplepiano pointed it out, I've not been able to un-hear it.







It's a bit like the fish in the speed camera sign. I can't un-see that, either. Look, fish!


I've run out of cartoons now; I'd like to carry on doing drawing-stuff and posting-stuff (it is, on balance, good for the brain) but we shall see how it goes.

The two circles on the left are its mouth and eye and the lensy bit is its gills and a fin.

I'd been thinking of it as the fish being curved in a swimming-type way, so the lensy bit is the body and tail, but that way works as well. Hmmm, now I can see two different fish...

Your wood pigeons are evidently far more exciting than my parents', who just drone on in a boring fashion. About the most exciting thing I can imagine them saying is, "It's summer." "Yes, it is." "It's summer." "Yes, it is."

I can't see the fish even with the explanations of how to look! On the other hand, I *can* see the dodgy image in the 2012 Olympics logo, and devoutly wish I couldn't.

I forgot to introduce myself earlier. I'm a friend of [info]mirabehn's and I'm really enjoying your cartoons!

Hmmm, yes - they do use different rhythms, of which I've picked only one :)
The 'screw you' pigeons are still somewhat boring after a while, though.

Wood pigeons aare the only birds I've ever wanted to dispose of. What an infuriating noise.

We live with wood pigeon disposal units, which has its own set of consequences.

If you want infuriating noise though, try sleeping in a tent a few yards from a cockerel who starts crowing between 2 and 3 in the morning, and then emits a dozen or so unevenly spaced crows at roughly half-hourly intervals until morning.
